Therapy Connect works with people from across all states and territories of Australia. Distance is no barrier so you might be in a major city like Sydney or on an island in the Torres Strait and you can still connect with us for online therapy. Our practitioners are located across the country too, so no matter where you are, we will match you to the best therapist to meet your needs, not just one that is in your postcode.

We deliver services in people’s homes, schools, childcare and preschool and work with individuals, carers, families, teachers, aides and support workers.

Depending on your plan and your unique needs and goals, the NDIS can cover 100% of the costs of our allied health services. Therapy Connect fees are determined by:

  • Therapy type eg. Occupational Therapy or Psychology.
  • NDIS or private funding.
  • Location – this is relevant only for NDIS-funded clients who live in remote or regional areas.

Therapy Connect aligns its pricing with the NDIS Price Guide, which sets prices for the supports we deliver. You can find more information about NDIS pricing at the following link: https://www.ndis.gov.au/providers/price-guides-and-information

Pricing differs in some cases depending on the therapy you are using, the state or territory you live in and the regional, remote or very remote classification of where the therapy is provided.

Fees for people who are privately funded (non-NDIS) are $198 per hour for all therapies except psychology which is $225 per hour.

If you have private health insurance, please check with your fund to see if online therapy delivery is covered. Medicare is generally not accepted for online allied health therapy delivery with some exceptions, such as the Mental Health Care Plan.

The NDIA uses the Modified Monash Model (MMM) to determine regional, remote and very remote areas using a scale based on population size and locality. The NDIS Price Guide 2019-2020 provides information about classifications and we can also help you determine which pricing applies to you.

If you live outside of cities and regional centres, prices are higher as the NDIA recognises that people with disability living in rural and remote areas often face additional challenges that are distinctly different from people who live in metropolitan areas.

The NDIA defines support as being delivered where the person receiving support is located. With Therapy Connect, this is usually in the person’s home, school or another local venue. It acknowledges that telepractice is akin to a therapist visiting a person in their home or community and that any additional challenges caused by geographical remoteness are relevant to where the person is, not the therapist.

To ensure registration requirements are met, Therapy Connect is registered with the NDIS in all states and territories where services are delivered.

Therapy Connect requires 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled appointment. For appointments scheduled on a Monday, a notice of cancellation will need to be made on Saturday.

If you cancel after this time, a late fee will be charged for non-attendance without notice. This fee will be outlined in your service agreement.

Therapy Connect will send you a reminder email of your confirmed appointment two business days prior to your appointment.

The email will contain the link to your practitioner’s Zoom video conference room. We can also arrange to send an SMS reminder if required.

We take care to remind you of your appointment, but the responsibility is yours to attend or to cancel within the cancellation period.

Online therapy (telepractice) allows access to therapy within your home or local community, without the need for a therapist to travel to you or you to travel to the therapist. This means that, except for exceptional circumstances, you won’t ever have to pay for travel costs when working with us.

Sometimes, for example, in very remote areas, Therapy Connect may need to travel to a community to assess needs and establish support networks. In these cases, we can enter into specific arrangements with participants to cover travel costs and we also work to minimise these by coordinating appointments and sharing them between participants.

Get started with us in three easy steps:

  1. Click on this link to complete an obligation-free Registration Form and attach relevant reports and NDIS details.
  2. We will arrange an initial clinical service appointment by a video call with a senior clinician to test the technology, confirm your therapy support needs and develop a service plan with you.
  3. We will match the best practitioner to meet your needs and arrange an appointment to get you started.

Research by the World Health Organisation (WHO) shows that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face therapy appointments. Plus there are many more added benefits including:

  • Access the best practitioner for you, no matter where they are in the country, not just the ones that are in your postcode.
  • Save on travel time and costs that usually come with a practitioner coming to you or you travelling to meet them. Our allied health team can do a video call with you in the comfort of your home, from school, pre-school or work. This saves you time and money.
  • Therapy Connect programs are designed specifically for online (telehealth) and are proven to be interactive, fun and engaging. We have research to back this up. Therapy Connect partnered with the University of Sydney for a research project titled “Delivering quality allied health services to children with complex disabilities” which has been published in the Journal of Developmental and Physical Disabilities
